Mr. Nichols graduated from East Carolina University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health.  He was employed with the Pitt County Health Department, Environmental Health Division for 28.5 years, retiring in 2010.

A Registered Environmental Health Specialist, Mr. Nichols is a member of the North Carolina Environmental Health Supervisors Association, and a member of the Northeastern District Environmental Health Section NCPHA.

Mr. Nichols is a member of the Board’s Financial Audit Committee.
